Get ready for a summer of fun at the Michael Paul Gymnasium in San Jacinto and the Valle Vista Community Center in Hemet! We've got volleyball and basketball camps, an art workshop, and even a Pinewood Derby. Registration is open, but space is limited and you must sign up in person at the gym or Valle Vista Community Center.

Michael Paul Gym, 901 W. Esplanade Ace., San Jacinto

* Volleyball Camp will be June 15, 17 and 19 with ages 8 to 10 from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. and ages 11-13 from noon to 2:00 p.m. The fee is $10 per player and the deadline to register is June 12.

* Basketball Camp will be July 6, 8 and 10 with ages 8 to 10 from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. and ages 11-14 from noon to 2:00 p.m. The fee is $10 per player and the deadline to register is July 3.

* The Pinewood Derby will be June 23 and 26 from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. for ages 7 to 17. The fee is $10. The deadline to register in June 17.

* The Art Workshop will be July 13 from 10:00 a.m. to noon for ages 7 to 14. There is no fee but registration is required by July 10.

Other events will be:

* Backyard Games, June 9 and 11, 1:00-3:00 p.m., ages 8-13

* Paper Airplane Competition, July 20, 10:00 a.m. to noon, ages 7 to 14

* Treasure Hunt in the Park, July 29, 9:00-11:00 a.m., ages 5 to 13.

* Open Gym Basketball, June 8, 10, 22, 24 and 29, July 1, 13, 15, 22 and 27, 11:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m.

* Open Gym Volleyball, June 16, 18, 23, 25 and 30, July 2, 14, 21, 23 and 30, 12:30 to 2:30 p.m.

Those events are free and advanced registration is not required.
