Looking for something for your children to do this week?

Valley-Wide Recreation and Park District has a number of events scheduled through the end of summer break at our facilities in French Valley, Hemet, Menifee, San Jacinto, Valle Vista and Winchester.

All activities are for children 17 and younger, except for the Aquatic Center and Movies in the Park. Activities are free, unless indicated. Some have age ranges as listed. See the full schedule on our website, GoRecreation.org.

* FRENCH VALLEY (Rancho Bella Vista Community Center):

Basketball open gym: July 27, 29, 31

Volleyball open gym: July 28, 30.

Sessions for grades Pre-K to sixth grade from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and seventh through 12th grades (12:30 to 3 p.m.).

* MENIFEE

(Marion V. Ashley Community Center):

Basketball open gym: July 27-30, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

* SAN JACINTO (Michael Paul Gymnasium):

Treasure Hunt in the Park, July 29, 9 a.m. (sharp) to 11 a.m., ages 5 to 13.

Basketball open gym: July 27, 11 a.m.-2 p.m.

Volleyball open gym: July 30, 12:30-2:30 p.m.

* VALLE VISTA COMMUNITY CENTER:

* DIAMOND VALLEY AQUATIC CENTER:

Open swimming is available daily. 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. weekdays. $2-$10

Lap Swim for adults, Sunday, 11 a.m. to noon, $2.

The pool will temporarily close starting Aug. 1 for installation of an aquatic play structure
