The OLDlympics, a series of competitions for people 50 and older, is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year.

Registration has opened for the OLDlympics, which will take place Sept. 15-Oct. 7 in Hemet and San Jacinto.

Competitors can chose from among 20 events -- bench press, billiards, bingo, bowling, chair volleyball, cribbage, Fun-tathlon, golf, hand & foot, horseshoes, pickleball, pinochle, Scrabble, shuffleboard, swimming, table tennis, tennis, Texas Hold 'em, tournament Blackjack and track and field. The event wraps up with the Awards Banquet.
